Nehéz ezt bevallanom, de csak elég későn, a Sláger Rádió 1998-as debütálásának hatására
kezdtem el érdeklődni az 50-60-70-es évek könnyűzenéje iránt. Ellentétben a 80-as évek
new wave repertoárjával (amit jól ismerek és szeretek - lásd ugyanezen honlapon a
Best of 80's gyűjteményt), az azt megelőző korszakok nemzetközi "slágereit"
(ezek túlnyomó részben amerikai-, kisebb részben angol-, és csak egész elhanyagolható
mértékben más országbeli eredetűek, de ebben az esetben is angol nyelvűek) legfeljebb
hallomásból ismertem.
Számomra is meglepő új élmény volt a többnyire rossz hangminőség mögött "kihallani"
ezeknek a korszakoknak a mainál lényegesen nyugodtabb, egyszerűbb hangulatát. Talán
csak öregszem (amennyiben 35 évem annak számít)? Vagy csak megelégeltem, hogy az
elmúlt 15-20 évnek a technikát leszámítva bizony semmi újat, semmi magasztosat nem
sikerült produkálnia. Sőt, ki kell mondanom: a kultúrális-, szellemi- és erkölcsi
leépülés egyre nyilvánvalóbb és aggasztóbb. És ez bizony abszolút értelemben is
igaz, nem csupán a technikai lehetőségek és az emberek képességei között egyre
csak nyíló "ollóról" lehet beszélni.
Ajánlom tehát mindenkinek, hogy tegyen próbát ezekkel a zenékkel. Sajnos arra még
tippem sincs, hogyan lehet ezeket beszerezni: ennek a korszaknak a zenéi tipikusan
a legolcsóbb "akciós" gagyi-CD-ken szerezhető be, de igazán jó és átfogó gyűjteménnyel
nem találkoztam (mint ahogyan a 80-as évek esetében sem). Egyelőre helyhiány miatt a
Best of 80's oldalamhoz hasonlő 1 perces, botrányos minőségű zenei részleteket sem igazán
tudok kitenni: ettől függetlenül igyekszem ezt az oldalt is az
őt megilettő tisztelettel fejleszteni.
